the personality.

[Personality] Lucius is haughty and arrogant, and has forgotten a lot of his former humiliation over the years. He can, if he finds you important enough be charming and delightful, though very few are deemed important by Lucius. After the war he's a bit of a recluse at times though when he does go out he likes to show off how very rich and fabulous he is.

He is, however, also very much a family man. He fell for Narcissa early and hard, and have to this day never loved another woman (or man). Still he has never been afraid of using other's affection for him as a means to an end, but while letting them think they might get what they want, he has never intended to stray a second from his wife's side. His devotion spilled onto his son, who he spoiled hopelessly, something he is now repeating with his grandson. He is less than fond of how much his son leaves his family, and is not afraid to tell him so.
[quirks] He has the habit of toying with his cane or ring when he's bored and when he has a lot on his mind he's prone to 'take walks' meaning disappearing into the herbal garden or greenhouse as he finds the dealing with plants relaxing (not that he’d let anyone know this little embarrassing secret)
[history]After the war, Lucius was very close to a broken man. Azkaban had taken its toll on him, and he'd seen the first strands of grey in his otherwise perfect hair. He saw the end of the war with mixed feelings. On the one hand grateful that the greatest threat to his son was removed, on the other terrified of going back to Azkaban. So when it stood clear that Harry Potter would testify to the benefit of his wife and son, he, together with Narcissa, made sure to make slight alterations to events so that it became clear that he too had opposed the Dark Lord. It was enough to acquit him in the court, but his former position in society was lost for good.

For the years that followed, Lucius pulled back from the limelight, his wife taking over center stage as he focused on the manor, its wards and the business which had suffered from his disgrace. Truth was that he wasn't very eager to leave the manor at all, feeling uncomfortable in a way he'd never done before. However, with time, and his wife's increasing success, he managed to make himself forget said disgrace, and once more feel as if he was entitled to anything and everything. He walks with pride once more, and should you ask he can tell you with conviction that he and Narcissa always had planned for her to become Minister for Magic.
